KDM's Peer Mentors were honored at the April Board of Education Meeting for their compassion and commitment to fostering a positive school culture. These 15 students volunteered their recess time to support students with special needs. KDM's Autism Team presented their program, as well, in honor of Autism Awareness and Acceptance month. Last Friday the 1st Grades went on an amazing field trip to Tranquility Farms. We explored greenhouses, planted flowers, and went on a hayride. There were animals for us to see (even a striped donkey!) and there was a giant playground for them to play on after lunch. The classes wrote butterfly nonfiction books and had a great time learning about plants at Tranquility Farms! Everyone had a blast and we learned more about the life cycle of plants and how to take care of them."--The First grade Team
