Rutgers School Based Program in Rockaway Township Public Schools offers access to confidential mental health services to ALL students. The program, also promotes emotional wellness and mental health support to students and families.

Rutgers School-Based Program is reserved for those students determined to be at greatest risk & in most significant need of immediate mental health services. Often times, such students (in need of stabilization) require additional therapeutic support to regain student functioning and remain in school. The Rutgers clinicians can make referrals to higher levels of care when clinically appropriate. Once a student has regained stabilization, the Rutgers clinician will link student for ongoing mental health treatment with a therapist in the community.  Referrals are identified by Rockaway Schools District Administration, RTI / 504 team members, and building-level guidance counselors.
