Beginning with the 2019 calendar year all schools in New Jersey with well water were required to test the water at point of entry (rather than the point of consumption...i.e. a water fountain, kitchen sink) for a new contaminant, perfluorononanoic acid PFNA. Starting in 2020 we expect schools will also be required to test water for perfluorooctanoic acid PFOA and perfluorooctane acid PFOS.
To be proactive, we began testing for all three compounds. Compliance is measured on a running annual average basis and our fourth quarter results from the raw water (right out of the well) and point of entry (before reverse osmosis treatment) caused us to exceed the New Jersey State Standard of 13 parts per trillion (ppt) for PFNA.
Further Information regarding these continued tests and measures can be found in the letters and reports linked below.
