Safe Schools SDS - Right to Know
An annual survey for products in use through December 31, 2022 is required by the NJDOH and is performed at each school, the Board Office, Maintenance Dept. and Transportation, identifying products that are listed on the New Jersey Hazardous Substance List. This is to ensure compliance with the Right to Know standard. The standard requires a hazard communication program to disseminate information to ensure everyone has the "right-to-know" the identity of the hazards and chemicals they work with, to reduce the incidence of chemically-related occupational illnesses and injuries. These RTK surveys are also filed with the NJDOH, Rockaway Twp. Fire and Police Departments, and the Morris County Lead Agency.
